1st GAP Workshop:
broken bones, broken lives
POLIMI, June 25th-26th 2024

The first GAP workshop, held in Milan on June 25-26, featured a diverse program focused on introducing the issue of fragility fractures and their dramatic impact. The event began with an introduction to the GAP project by Prof. L. Vergani, followed by PhD F. Buccino presenting the GAP vision and PhDream, a life-changing experience, alongside Prof. A. Bernasconi’s insights into the PhD perspective. Prof. M. Pero presented a quantitative overview of the fragility fracture impact, while Dr. R. Erroi and Prof. M. Santambrogio covered administrative and big data aspects of GAP. Doctoral candidates presented their work, followed by a teamwork activity led by the Coordinator Team. The second day included a tour of POLIMI laboratories, an overview of the experimental campaigns, and presentations of teamwork activities, concluding with discussions on the GAP network and future collaborations.
