About DC11.

My name is Martina Birocco

Short Bio:

I am Martina, and I come from Turin, Italy. I studied at the Polytechnic of Turin, where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2021. Then, I decided to continue my studies in the biomedical field, and in 2023, I completed my Master's degree at the same university, specializing in Biomechanics. My research interests in biomechanics span multiple length scales and topics, from the design and testing of prostheses and bioreactors at the macroscale to the investigation of cell behavior, drug design, and molecular dynamics at the micro and nanoscale. As I move forward, I have decided to pursue a PhD and focus on this project. Through this initiative, I will continue my research at the intersection of Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Science.

Expectations about GAP:

The GAP project is a great opportunity to tackle new biomechanics challenges with my own skills and make a real impact while traveling and networking with PhD students across Europe to reach our goals
